All log cottages are equipped with a foot-washing area for dogs. A place where dogs can play to their heart’s content in the dog run
As the name Inugoten suggests, this is an inn just for dogs: newly renovated in 2020, Inugoten offers a space where you and your pooch or cat can relax together. (Dogs, cats and small animals can be accommodated).
Dogs are not allowed only in the main public hot spring baths. All other spaces can be enjoyed with your dog. There is also a dog café and a trimming service! If you stay in a private villa, you’ll also get a dog-exclusive hot tub and even a private dog run.
There are outdoor and indoor dog runs, so you can play as much as you like without worrying about the weather. The inn offers a view of Shirara Beach, so owners can also stay here in a relaxed atmosphere. BBQ, bonfire and pizza oven! Enjoy the outdoors with your pooch
SEN.RETREAT CHIKATSUYU, which just opened in April 2022, is an inn where you and your dog can enjoy bonfires, making pizza in the pizza oven and trekking the Kumano Kodo path, which is a World Heritage site.
The inn is conveniently located along the Kumano Kodo called ‘Nakaheji’ and is about 20 minutes’ drive from Kumano Hongu Taisha, one of the Kumano Sanzan, and Oosaihara, which has the largest torii gate in Japan. On the day after your stay, be sure to take a walk along the Kumano Kodo with your dog.
Located in Chikatsuyu, a town along the Kumano Kodo, the inn consists of seven container villas. You can make pizzas in the stone oven and enjoy lava-plate BBQs. You can visit lightly, as there is a full range of food, drinks and amenities that focus on Wakayama Prefecture products, as well as a washing machine with dryer for free use. The inn is also the perfect place to enjoy Wakayama Prefecture’s produce. For dogs, beef jerky is available as an option.
